The EnListen® Program

How Can EnListen® Help My Child?

EnListen® is a breakthrough software program which trains the human ear to acquire, develop, and refine one's listening function. It helps the ear to better attend to, locate in space, distinguish between, and organize, sounds of language, music, and noise. Changes in processing, translate into improvements in academic performance, self-esteem, and emotional intelligence.

"A primary premise of EnListen® is that it can improve the body's ability to listen and process sound frequencies responsible for many essential life functions. Individual's who process the complete sound spectrum optimally are those who see the benefits in all areas of their life. Do you remember the person in school who was good at everything? They were on the "A" honor roll, they were the star of the baseball team, ran track and served as president of their class. It is likely that such a person's body was able to "listen" to all frequencies of sound so that the brain could process them effectively and know what to do with the processing..i.e. excellent processing!"

What Do Specific Frequencies Indicate?

  • Low frequencies (those below 750 hz) give the body's vestibular system the necessary information to perform tasks related to the body. Ex: toileting, balance, fine & gross motor control, food selectivity, texture recognition and tolerance, pain threshold and sleeping habits.

  • Middle frequencies (1000 - 3000 hz) account for language recognition, cognition and speech. Understanding what is being said and being able to speak to others. Ex: Did they say base or pace? Who said that? Where did that sound come from? Does your child comprehend what they just read or do they have to read it several times? Is your child able to plan their day? Did they remember to bring their school book from home because they have an open book test in the morning? Does your child understand multi-step instruction such as "put your shoes on, get your backpack and meet me at the door"?

  • High frequencies (above 4000 hz) account for essential neurological energy. Mood, temperament, desire for social interactions, anxiety control and sound sensitivities are controlled by higher frequencies. Ex: Difficulty in transitioning from one activity to another at school, feelings of depression or anxiety over issues, difficulty being in loud restaurants.

How The EnListen® Program Works:

  • An EnListen® program is written specifically for the individual.
  • Uses proprietary bone and air conduction headphones. Special bone conductor on the right ear side
  • Uses engineered music files – Mozart, Gregorian Chant, Handel’s Water Music, Narrated stories
  • Sounds with different filtering, gating and delays are sent separately to the right and left ear to "wake up" or stimulate the brain. EnListen® trains the brain to pick up lost frequencies.
  • The EnListen® program consists of a signal delivered through the bone conductor, then a delay, then the frequency is delivered through air. Gradually there is a decrease to the bone signal and the air stands alone
  • The concept can be compared to training a lazy eye
  • The training program is 15 days with listening time at 2 hours per day. This is called an intensive
  • There is an integration period for 6 - 8 weeks after each intensive
  • During the integration phase, the frequencies from the headset are utililzed and improvements are noticed
  • A licensed EnListen® professional determines how many intensives are needed for each person

EnListen® Is Safe

  • EnListen® is a frequency based program
  • With sound volume fully up, it does not exceed OSHA safety standards

Benefits of EnListen®

  • EnListen® is customized to the individual
  • EnListen® is a milestone based program
  • EnListen® changes occur at the precognitive level so trainees may read, sleep or engage in other activities
  • The program automatically shuts itself off
  • May be listened to at different times of the day
  • Develops listening fundamentals for processing sound in daily life
  • EnListen® is a patented training tool
